Siri Island Cultural and Sport Complex
Siri Island.persian gulf-Iran 1996

This complex is to be constructed by the Ministry of Oil as a recreation center for the staff of the ministry of oil in Siri.
The site is located beside the sea. The most important element on the site is a natural aquarium.

The complex is designed as a jetty that sets out from the beach and at the other end, just like a marine creature, lowers its head and plunges into the sea. The formal configuration both in length, width and height resembles the body of a marine animal creating undulating space around it.

The skin is transparent; therefore, during the day the sea could be seen from inside and by the night the building shines as a transparent band in the sea. Inside the building, recreational facilities such as bowling salon, the gym, roofed, Swimming pools, restaurant and etc are aligned in length. The pool is designed so that the water inside it stands at the sea level. This results in unification of the sea and the internal space.
The gradual bending of the building into the sea provides the possibility of creating a natural aquarium at the end of the building.

The structure consists of regular U shaped steel frames from which the transparent skin suspends. The aerodynamic form gives the building the necessary resistance to stand before the sea waves.
