Iran National Museum of Water
Tehran-Iran 1995

This center aims at collecting, preserving and exhibiting the Iranians’ achievements in providing and distributing this vital material.
The exhibition spaces are organized in four sectors: history of water, cognition of water, applications of water and aesthetics of water. The predicted site is located in Pardisan Park in Tehran.
The main objective of design has been to represent the meaning of this vital material in Iranian culture and history, which is definitely different from that of the other nations.
In Iranian culture water coexists with soil and achieves its definition from the contradiction brought about by this coexistence.
Wetness always reminds dry-ness.
With this in mind the main concept of the project is based on the combination of the dry and the wet, coexisting in equal conditions and in a manner that these two be inseparable.
“ I am close to the outset of time
Familiar to the wet fate of water
And the green habit of the tree”
