BNT is located at 20 km southeast of Isfahan, along Isfahan- Shiraz road, on the northern part of Lashtar Mountains.
BNT is one of the new towns predicted in the new Master plan of Isfahan region, and is devised to absorb Isfahan population’s overflow and to provide them appropriate dwelling. It is predicted that in year 2016 the city will accommodate a population of 320000 people in an area of 3000 hectares.

The master plan of the new town was approved in 1993. The implementation began in 1989 and at the moment the city hosts a population of 30000 people. The design process of BNT benefited from the principles and basics of Iranian historic urban design methods and their organic evolution in a progressive manner that would respond to today’s requirements.
