This district is the first
residential zone to be constructed in the city. The
design employs the configuration principals of Iranian
traditional districts with the same climatic conditions.
In order to establish a proper basis for design, these
principals have been modified in accordance with the
new social, economical, cultural and technical conditions.
The main objective we pursued by employing these principals
was to induce a new architectural quality that adheres
to the traditional Iranian architecture.
Architectural Characteristics of the district:
The
comprising elements of this district are its inseparable
parts that have shaped a united homogenous configuration.
In response to the natural and economical conditions
of this region, spatial minimalism has been set as the
main strategy. Thus the main task of the design process
has been minimizing the spaces and at the same time
making maximum use of them.
The
comprising elements of the district are materially and
formally harmonic and congruent. At the same time it
has been attempted to engender maximum spatial differentiation
via employing diverse forms and configurations.
By admitting different light values, and by deploying
varied forms, we have succeeded in generating attractive
formal and spatial variations. We have also attempted
to deploy the forms and proportions of Iranian traditional
architecture in a proper manner.
Each volume and each space is figuratively independent
and perfect yet related to other spaces and volumes.
All the elements of the district are designed according
to a modular system that has been applied to the whole
city. This geometric system has also been applied to
the volumes and spatial configurations. Also the functions
and accesses have been organized according to a fundamental
order. This system engenders harmony, beauty and homogeneity
throughout the district.
